Our technicians may ask you to perform a few tests before you purchase icVOIP or if you are experiences any trouble with your existing icVOIP.
The purpose of this test is to measure how well your Internet service provider can support a VOIP phone system. This is different from common speed tests as this will simulate actual phone calls. We can specify how many simultaneous calls and it will measure everything from download and upload speeds to any jitter and delays the packets experience in getting to our servers.
This test uses a PC on your local network and will run for several days. This way, it can detect any potential problems that can happen at a specific time of day (like when everyone gets into the office at the start of the day or after lunch) or because of faulty equipment (like when it gets hot outside or when your ISP needs to replace hardware). It will always give way to other traffic but will log anytime there was not enough bandwidth for it to run as well as any potential call quality issues, etc.
Please do not run this without receiving direction from an Innovative Concepts technician as our servers must be configured to receive the test data.
